a mate of my younger brother found this marlin up a local estuary in cirio bay near yeppoon bit like shoal bay near darwin

Unreal reading Harmsey, its freaky and makes me imgine what it would be like with billfish swimming in our esturaies.

probably about 50-80kms to the nearest billfish grounds but some have beem caught around the kepples about 20kms but not often. fish was obviously injured or distressed in some way and got lost or something? it was tangled in the mangroves he tried to swim it and guide it out to sea but would just turn back into the shallows :|

he ahs a heap of photos of it in the water etc will try and get them and do up a small article in NT mag
