Gotta try

Post by max »

Left N/cliff 6am just enough water some people having trouble, lots of sand there ,headed out to Fenton and started trolling (Ive seen it calmer white caps all day) trolled to Fenton wide where Coutta called us up he was headed for Nth Gutter where thankfully he gave us a call letting us know there was a bit of surface action out there so we trolled out ,birds were a bit patchy but just after the turn of the tide the bait came to the top and there were bust ups everywhere, mostly Doggy mackeral and big ones(they were taking skipping gars) we could have caught heaps ifwe cast lures, seen some bait getting hammered on top and there was a sail feeding there but on our second lap it was the sharks that had taken over ,we seen a few of these bait balls and they were being hammered by sharks a little while later we had a small sail have a go at the shotgun then the outrigger bait but it wasnt really interested Im sure with more boats there today Billfish would have been caught, sorry no photos of the big doggies no one took a camera.

I meant to give co-ords for the area where all the action was 12.04.777 130.36.718

that area seems to be a fairly good area to target Billfish as I had a few marks that Balls posted up a while ago
