Kp when fishing Groote. when we fish lures we run the smallest lure we can. when a sail comes up to the lure we free spool the lure to the fish for two counts then strike.hook up rate went up 3 of 5 in sted of 1 of 5. paklua and blackssnacks lure in about 170mm long

Figured id put up a pic of the lures i was running.
This was the one that had the billie chewing on it, seems like a good colour over here ive had a couple people say theyve got fish on that colour.
And this was the one that the mackerel loved

Re: billfishing this weekend whos keen??
I have found that the hard resin heads didnt get the same hook up rates as rubber heads. I think the fish tend to drop the resin heads a lot quicker. i have heard a few others say the same things. Im not that experianced with billfish how ever so a few of the gurus might have a better idea of the acuracy of this statement. I have seen sailfish chew on tennis balls used as a teaser so I assume they prefer the softer squishier objects.
