Bill fish hunting...who is keen?

Post by 2rods »

I have been talking to a few of the lads and everyone seems to want to chase a bill fish or 2 :fishing:

I was thinking maybe we could organise a weekend with good tides and weather and get a few boats out wide and look around...

The way I see it is that if we got say 4-6 boats out and all had VHF we could call each other up when we found the bait balls...cover more ground ... find more fish...have more fun.

I am keen as... so if you want to head out into the blue and try your luck let us know

:catch: :catch:

Sounds to me like the "FFF Billfish Challenge".

Great idea 2rods, I'm in.

I think Dundee has better grounds but we would get more people involved off Darwin.

Maybe two groups?

South Gutter seems to have produced marlin this year including the big one on the "FFF Gear" banner link on top left of this page. So the fuel misers might want to try there, because it is the nearest proven water.

Never chased Bills before so would love to give it ago. Just upgraded to a bigger boat (5m GS from a 4.5 tinnie) and looking to start traveling further out. First time with a few other boats sounds the go, count me in..
