Bait rigging demo

Post by Balls »

G'day all

Darwin Game fishing club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday night, its our AGM so there will be a bit of stuff that we have to cover, however I will also be taking some gear down to do a bait rigging demo if anyones interested, we will also run the Strike zone billfish video if anyone wants a squiz. The meeting starts at 7.00 pm, no cost involved & all welcome.

More on billfish, Quinnie released a small black in North Gutter on Saturday (caught on a skipping Gar) & missed another small Black.

Another mate fished Bathurst Trench on the weekend & missed four Blacks, 3 estimated at around 120 kg & 1 estimated around 150 kg, these are starting to get in the more serious sized beakies for up here & require gear upgrade if anyones thinking about having a crack at them. The Trench had heaps of jelly bean Tuna feeding & thats what a couple of the fish were hooked on, one rigged to swim & the other was bridle rigged live & trolled at a slow speed, not sure what the others took. If you have a suitable boat & the gear, when the tides are good its a great area with potential to pin some bigger fish + the Sails that are caught out there. Plenty of good sized mullet & whiting for swim baits in Buffalo creek at the moment if anyone is chasing Billfish baits, hope to catch ya Tuesday night, cheers Balls
