had no idea you were a female but it all makes sense now thanks for clearing that up.luvindafish wrote:Someone asked why the sail looked so black in the photos. I just gave my opinion thats all. Some blokes, and im sure its because im female and can actually catch sailfish, see fit to bully and name call. No worries, whatever floats ya boat. Id be happy to lobby, petition or be involved in a group to help stop netting etc to help protect the sailfish population. Im not sure how to go about it though. Any ideas let me know. Happy fishing

Re: 2010 Bill fish Classic
Gotta keep in mind that sails are no take commercially here in the NT. No doubt a few die in shark and mack gill nets anyway.
They are one of the fastest growing fish in the sea and should therefore be reasonably resilient as a resource, but full marks to those who push the good message and do the right thing
I tagged two last year and accidentally pushed the tag pole through one of them - it looked like it had been shot with a .45/70. Since it was probably mortally wounded I should have kept it for smoking/curry/garden fertiliser, but I was worried I might be seen with it back at the boat ramp, a sailfish with a bullet hole

Awesome metreclubwannabe congrats. You go girl. I think you'l find some good fish ethics on that boat too. I think i do know other females do very well on the sails from my time in Broome. Again i am amazed at the comments, name calling etc and issues that my posts generate from you boys . Not one of you know me personally so its a bit sad really. Its okay though, the forum is open to people to give there opinions so bring it on. If that what makes you happy and gets you through the day. Personally though, i'd rather go fishing. Luvindafish xx

Ha and here i was thinking that everyone hated my guts. poop happens i suppose. Sorry, what was your billy post?? Id love to catch a marlin. Well done on two blacks. (spose ya wacked a coupla fillets off them: think thats how you say it) That next on the agenda but with run off and all, its a tough gig to be everywhere. We're hopefully doing a trip to exmouth next year so hopefully we might get onto a marlin or two. We had a good year with 22 sails in two days plus a few others. Ben kicked my arse with big barra this year but thats all good i cant kick his all the time. Happy fishing

Oh. Sounds awesome. Prime time big barra run off. Thats the dilemma. Love to fish the Broome billfish comp, go to the Roleys. So so may things. Chasin blue marlin hey.Bens got a mate in exmouth that fishes pretty hard. Think he got a big blue. It was in a mag. Hangin to catch a marlin or be part of Ben catchin one. Hes been on the end of one when he worked on a game boat and nearly lost his eye when the swivel broke. Thank god for spotters
