Hey jonr

Bill fishing is like any other type of fishing you troll for a few hours and leave and then all of a sudden it goes off or you stay all day and it never happens haha. But if you have clean water and bait then you just have to stick it out.

Dundee is an exception but because you have options its not far between sailcity and bowra so if its slow you do get tempted to start searching. if there isn't any bait or clean water then I'd start looking around.

The big tip is to dedicate to bill fishing for the day and not even take any other rods or bait or dirty Mackie lures haha

Hey fellas new to the page, was heading over to Dundee this weekend for sails, macs etc. Got a teaser coming off ebay but is there any other items I'll need to target sails etc?

Thanks in advance

Good circle hooks and mono leader. You don't need heavy gear and outriggers, the sails are mostly small, and some fellas just hold the rod while trolling so if they feel a tap they are alerted and can immediately freespool before the fish gets spooked. Long time to hold a rod though, usually rod is held when things are looking good, eg bait etc on the sounder.

To have outriggers and a spread, there are cheap telescopic outriggers about but they don't last. Dubro line release clips are also useful with eggbeaters.

Also a cast net to gets some gars :D

Small skipping mullet also work, and swimming mullet will get the little blacks that are seen out there occasionally.
