Re: Name This Lure
Hi there,
Attached is a picture of what I think is the DK Scalerazer.
The lure has two hooks only, different eyes and different end of tail.
Eventually, we will put an ID on this lure...
Have a good day,
Pecheur

Re: Name This Lure
Hi, attached are pictures of a 3 hook DK Lure. They usually have a DK on the bib but will wear off over time. This one has the DK on the bib. Manns Stretch + lures had a habit of pulling the rear hooks on bigger barra. I have plenty of Manns +12 and +20 dust collectors in my shed that were picked up in the Daly when they were really popular in comps many moons ago.

Re: Name This Lure
Hi there,
Interesting Rossco,
I didn't know that the DK had a three hooks one.
Maybe it is one then?
Yet, the eyes are still different from the original lure in this thread.
Have a good day,
Pecheur

Re: Name This Lure
Manns for mine. See below, they don't have gills/fins or Manns imprinted near the tail and have different eyes (1x 3D, 1x painted)
2 questions:
- does the tip of the bib curve upwards slightly?
- when securing the hooks/rings does it sound like it has 3 or 4 ball bearings inside?
If you answer yes and yes (and based on your photo) case closed.

Re: Name This Lure
I think it is a Manns that was especially painted for FOW. I know they had a few batches done in the past. I don't think it was an original Manns colour.

Re: Name This Lure
I have one of these lures which my daughter named "Douglas" after catching a nice (and her first) 60cm barra at Brown's creek in the Daly about 4-5 years ago when she was about 8. (Douglas - Daly region was the thinking) . Since then it has hung on the fishing rod rack (if I had a pool room it would go straight there) and is far to precious to go out on anything but a special occassion. It actually doesn't swim that well, but it has caught a fish. Moulded in the bib on the RHS it has "S 20+" and on the LHS it has what could be "MANNS" but it's too hard to read . I saw a bomber lure in The Tackle Box shop today that looks similar but the bib is shallow diver.

NBN. on my lure:
YES - the bib bends upwards.
YES - there are 3 or so ball bearings inside.
Case closed I reckon.

Re: Name This Lure
Hi there,
But it is interesting to know that it is a Mann's.
And to see that they got away with a marking on the lure that is so close to the Classic Lures marking.
Have a good day,
Pecheur
I think that you are right FFF1964, my mistake, not looking at my lures properly, the third lure I put is a Bandit one...fff1964 wrote:Sorry guy's i was reffering to pecheur's lure.

Re: Name This Lure
Looks like a early (2000's) "saratoga" brand, the give away is the painted fins. Commonly sold at Kmart and on ebay. This is a three hook variety but worked best with the middle hook removed.
