I think I know what you mean Max. The idea is that the front hook tucks up behind the body making it more snag resistant but still leaving the hook point exposed and easily found by a striking fish.

Would have to say the polty is the best Barra lure on the Daly, I was the first to fish this lure back in 1996 on the Daly in a green colour in the Barra Classic.Caught some great barra then ,but needed more due to some snaggy sticks near hare's rock bar so i raided Harro's lure box as he had a couple for Murry cod...... A great big barra lure !!!

As my Late father Ivan Sparnon always said "If your not fishin a polty you just aint BARRA fishing".......

Tight lines guy's............ Scott Sparnon.

Love these lures but never thought to or seen them fitted with singles, does this improve hook up rates? Or just personal preference, also what is the set up with the singles? Homemade or bought?
Cheers bisho

They look like the owner singles you can buy. Could be wrong. As for hook up rate. That is open for debate IMHo. At the end of the day your losing four hooks. Does make them
Less snag happy though.

The hooks are Owner Dancing Stingers 5284S-137, you can't get them in Oz. Hook up rate is down but only on smaller fish. Big fish stay connected. The small section of cord allows for less mechanical advantage to be used by the fish.

If you can't get them in Aus, where do you get them?

Thx Blinky, I just found your post regards these hooks. Very interesting, they must be effective for you to go to all of that trouble to change your hooks out.

Steve, I fish exclusively with singles on all my Barra lures.
