East point worth it?

Post by Brinno »

Is east point worth it at the moment? I've been up here for a year now but the weather was very different this time last year.

Cheers Goldfish thought that would be the case. Itching to try out the new reel I was given for Christmas though.

Try Fannie Bay and Rapid Creek under the bridge if the poo worries you.

i'd wait until it clears up, if the weather reports are true, by next week it should be clearer there, giving you a better chance and catching good pelagics

Hi Brimo,
Its a great spot in good weather and I've got plenty of good Barra out of there .
Takes a bit to work out but best fished at about 3mt on a push in tide .
Not so good on neap tides if the water is clear .
Don't worry about the poo pipe on the east side as it is released out on big tides
and dosn't effect the area .
Good luck.

It all depends on which part of East Point.

Pelagics are to the harbour side where you can see Mandorah. But barras can be caught dependent on tides.

Ludmilla/Racecourse creek is the poo shooter side. It is a bit of a hike out there. You will usually see a few live baiters there on the incoming.

Fannie Bay side is the most accessible and can produce queenfish and some nice barra as jeffish has noted.

Around the cool spot rocks (Fannie bay side) is good for pelagics. Use metal slices or poppers. Persistence pays off.got this after being smoked and busted off a few times.

Good stuff, I usually head down there for a beer and a flick. Always manage a few queenies there.
