Land based Barra
Hi all, i am an amateur fisherman who mostly fishes around the east point/ City area. Does anyone have any tips for catching Barra around these areas? Help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Land based Barra
i have had most of my successes on neap tides when the water is a bit clearer and less run. i use small plastics such as the 3 inch wedge tails. for hard bodies i find it hard to go past the old faithful gold bombers in the 15A size or even the reidys bf2s in some of the natural bait fish patterns. and basically all i do is fish the pockets of slack water behind cover such as rock or mangroves it can be a challenge to pull the nicer size fish out from these locations from time to time but thats all part of the fun. as far as locations go ive done well at Chanel island left from the ramp there is a great rock bar that goes out a fair way ive also done well at buff creek casting straight off the ramp to the others side on a rising tide. ive also plucked a few around the rocks at east point fishing from the bottom of the tide and just follow it back as it rises. well hopefully this helps mate persistence is key mate so good luck.

Ok, thanks mate. I usually fish off east point rocks, will take this into consideration. Haven't landed a Barra yet, hopefully this will help!

If you can get live bait it will increase your chances (in my experience)

Ok, I don't have a net so getting live bait is a bit tricky for me but if my friend is there he can get bait. Thanks mate
