First Barra! Kinda....
Caught my first barra today at East Arm just on dark but slipped on the rocks just as I bent over to pick it up and the bastard jumped and unhooked itself. Sooo I still haven't landed one, but it was definitely cool to finally get one on the line haha It jumped and everything! It would have been around 50cm.

That's all it takes to get the bug. Caught my first barra in a small rapid in Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk). Perhaps unusually, I did not fall over.

Got him! So went back to the same place today and had a hit first cast, exact same location. Second cast I hooked it and brought him quickly up to the road. I swear it looked like the exact same barra, maybe that's where he has his tea. It turned out to be 62cm. Caught on a Storm 'twitch stick' lure.

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!
Especially when you can see them!

Great stuff Bucky007. I don't know many other blokes who under-estimate the size of their fish by 12cm!
