Went down to East point for a look today, as the macks were supposed to be firing. Water was too murky due to the rain last night though, so I only caught one wolf herring. Ended up cutting a fillet off the herring and put on a wire trace and a large hook for some fun. Well bugger me, withing five minutes of being casted out my rod was bent double and my saragosa 6000 screaming. The first run took around 100m of line, before it shook it's head, stopped, thrashed and went off again. I was genuinely scared that I might be spooled, however it broke me off on the reef
After that, tried again (not very smart eh) and these guys fishing near me landed a big queenie on a livie. The air appears to be drier and cooler, hopefully the dry season is coming soon.
