2nd attempt at Durack lakes

Post by Territory_Tuff »

Hey guys, went down to Durack lakes early in the morning flicked at the Rock wall for about 5mins until the couple who live there came down and said go try over under the tree so thats what I did when I git over there I noticed that there was a weed bed on the bottom and barra were hiding in it and waiting for small bait fish to swim over the top so I quickly got my gold black 80mm squidgie what I did was cast let it hit the bottom and jig up twice wind up the slack line and keep repeating after about five casts I got a hit next cast in the same spot I was on he ran straight under the lily pads and started jumping and trying to drop the hook after a good 2 min fight I got it to come up to me just as I tried grab it boof straight back down and this time I wasn't prepared so I held the spool he jumped and threw the hook I was yelling my head off then in the next two casts I was hooked again but this was half the size I got it in and estimated around 30cm the first one would've been about 60 or 70cm I was using 10lb braid on a daiwa coastal barra 153h reel. :banghead: will upload pics soon

Good stuff.
Bad luck mate
When asked by a non-fisherman "how many fishing rods do you actually need?", the correct response is either:
A) n+1 (where n is the number if rods you currently have); or

B) n-1 (where n is the number of rods which would cause your other half to dump you)

Nice work mate I catch them in the lake behind the servo. You have to wait until it has just had a big down pour before it fires though. Try using the smaller rainbow trout slick rigs or the riedys rubbers in the same pattern always works for me.

Well done mate and that's a dead give away on the spot that bottom pic
Good of you to post it for the young ones and those of us that just need a flick fix
Hope people release them back into there as I doubt they would be good for eating

firstly, i dont mind sharing my spots only if people release them for others to catch again
secondly, i am one of the young ones im 14
lastly, with the lack of water time ive had lately as all the roads are wet i also know others havent had water time so i dont mind helping others.

good stuff TT, what happened today??

get any good hits? :-)
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!
