Hi Guy's and Girl's.
Me and the other half have decided to move to darwin and I'm after some advice if possible? I love my fishing, camping and outdoorsy stuff, the missus is coming around to it. Apart from the fishing, camping etc. is Darwin a good place to live? Much construction work? and what time of year is best to arrive? I imagine it would be hard to get work at the start of the dry? Maybe I'm wrong. For now I'll just continue to look in awe at all the fish being caught. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Joe

G'day Joe, Darwin is a great place to live, and there is plenty of construction work but it is a bit slow during the wet so try to get here in the dry. Fishing is ok too.

Mate look into the impex project, and app;y for a job on line. There are a few coming up and a few on now.
Best time to come is now bofore the build up so you can aclimatise to the heat as it creeps up on us.
Rents a bit pricy and so is food to an extent, but life is good and people are friendly, even friiendlier if you have a boat you have spare seats on.
Give it a go, if teh partner doesnt like it you can always go back

Best time to move here is the dry so you can get acclimatised as soon as possible. There seems to be plenty of work about. (im flat out but im semi retired )
Good place to live but rents etc are higher than most
I found that the fresh food isnt the same quality as down south. still ok but not right up there.

Thanks for the replies guy's, you sure are a friendly lot. I know some places where the locals wouldn't encourage people to move to town.
All the positive comments have made me even more keen to get up there, I just have to tie up a few loose ends down here and its on.
Thanks once again.

Just let us know when you are on the way mate, and we'll get god to move over a bit.

I pray that one day God sends me a fish so big that, when talking of it...I have no reason to lie.
