Tiwi Islands - 25 - 27 May 07

Post by Lobster »

Am currently planning on doing a trip up to the Tiwis from 25 - 27 May 07.

Depart Darwin mid morning Fri (have a look at Fenton etc)
Arrive Nguiu around luchtime
Fish up the Apsley Straight and arrive at Pirlingimpi around 4pm
Fish the hole during the night :catch:

Depart early AM 26 and head to Marie Shoal and troll the run bottom bash the slack. Have a look around and poss look at Moss if quiet
Return to Pirlingimpi hole PM 26 and fish a bit more :fishing:

Depart AM 27 and fish shoals on return to Darwin
Arrive Darwin approx 4pm

As I said a rough plan that is obviously open to changes depending on weather etc. If boats are keen to stay fishing the strights then no probs at all.

At the moment we have two full boats but I may be looking for a Deckie if my current one can't make it.

Tides are neaps which are not the best for fishing the shoals but help when fishing the channel....also beggers can't be choosers with time :bonk:

Should be a great trip. Have done it in the Dec 04 and had a ball of a time and again Oct 06. Awesome. Photo is a mate Al who scored this whopper goldie at Pirlingimpi. This was backed up with massive Jew as well. He still brags about outfishing me so here you go Al, credit where credit is due...

I didn't miss out either with a few lesser Goldies and of course a heaps of big Jewies!!! 8-)

If you are keen to come along just drop your name in on the thread. More details will be posted as they come available.

Backcast,

Yeh hopefully the ru will be down...real hard to fish in a current as it fairly rocks between the island and the mainland.

2 Rods,

No probs mate...will let you as soon as I know if my mate can make it. I am off from around 20 -31 May so if you are keen to get out on some day trips i'll be happy.
