Spring tides help

Post by JasonFaulkner »

Hey all, I have tried going through many previous posts to try and find some information on the peron/Bateman shoal/cape Scott/ford area as I was thinking of heading that way around the 25th of March for a few days fishing, however the spring tides are making me wonder if it's still worth heading there. Was thinking of doing some Bluewater fishing for Pelagics and trying some bottom bouncing if possible. Just after some information on the water clarity/window for bottom bouncing.

If not was thinking of heading around to cape Hotham region and trying the same if water clarity or the rip isn't as bad that way?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Better the first option than the second on springs.

You can only fish cape Hotham on neaps. It really rips hard through there. And there's not much pelagic action there. Dundee doesn't seem to get the huge run like most places up here.
