Be careful of the Willyweather site, it is not within cooee for Buff Creek, to be specific it is about 2.5 hours early on the incoming for today.

Dragonmaster, use the above link and hover the mouse over the graph at the bottom of the page. 4m is pretty much the cut off to get in/out of Buffalo Creek
Depends on your boat, I can get in and out of buff with 3.2m low with no dramas.

Your right, I have a 610 and its dragging its bum on 4m up near the ramp

Its been spot on for me the few times I have used it. However, I do use it in conjunction with the tides on my Garmin.

To be absolutely specific, today Willy weather had the first of the push in at 1453, the reality was the tide was still flowing out at 1630 and probably would have continued to flow out for another hour had I bothered to stay.

I challenge anyone to go to Buff creek boat ramp tomorrow at 1526 when willy weather suggests the first of the push in will occur, if it is coming in I buy you a can, if it is still flowing out you buy me a can.

All I am saying is Buff Creek takes a bit of getting used to and Willy weather in this specific location is not within cooee, may be spot on elsewhere but I can't comment on that because I don't have any specific data. Just trying to save you a long wait.

Hi GLP, it's also well out for Rapid Creek as well - certainly incoming tides. Presumably it just uses an algorithm to calculate the tide times at any location along the coastline, in the case of rivers & creeks at the mouth, but can't compensate for the time 'delays' caused by shallow water & sandbars.
Cheers,

Ash

You could always do the maths. work out the difference between high and low water. Divide the meters of water by the hours of tide. times the answer by x hours to work out the exact time.

buffalo runs in at approximatly 3.3m.

GLP you kind of proved my point. I never said the first of the push in is when willy weather said the turn of the tide is. I cant get in before 4m so the first of the push in is probably around 3.5m. Today that was approx 5pm give or take a bit.
