This is the bs answer I got when asking about pococks
When I asked about it not being wet they started talking about crocs trapping andsurveys. And then infrastructure.
Maybe things have changed dramatically out there over the last year. Must be able to swim out there once the have done all this.
Or it’s just the same kakadont bs and they haven’t bothered opening is or they are too busy fishing it them self.

First weekend always used to look pretty well used. The sooner it's back in NT control the better

it seems to get worse each year.....its a sick joke. The park managers and rangers should be ashamed of themselves.

They are renovating it again. I’m sure they were doing Reno’s there once 2 years ago.

We probably need to write to the local member and Federal member and ask what they are doing about it.....they hate negative news that reflects on their performance on issues in the electorate they are responsible for. Where is Afaant these days...never here much from them!

Re: Kakadu's 4-Mile still closed
Even the visitor centre is still shut for some reason.
Maybe that's got something to do with the NT's currently closed borders meaning that there are no visitors.
I hear that the NT Govt is now saying that controls on the borders will remain in place for maybe 18 months.
If that's the case, why would the Fed govt be spending more than minimum money on maintaining a national park (which relies on visitors) in a state/territory that has locked its borders to visitors?
States/Territories behaving like little countries within Aus contrary to the Aus constitution is what the current high court challenge by Clive Palmer is all about.

They are renovating the tourism centre yet again. I reckon it was done only 4 or 5 years ago.
They are running a tourism centre out of the croc hotel for a few hrs a day.
Feds have our huge money to do up jabiru and roads. then even more money on doing up run down facilities.

Just phoned them and 4 mile is closed due to salvinia.
I asked about the beetle program and she said they are using that elsewhere but not at 4 mile for some reason. Didn’t sound like 4 mile will open at all this year and their just hoping for a big wet
