Daly River fishing, ramp is open

Post by Matt Flynn »

Some good fish being caught in the Daly River now the public ramp is open.

There are plenty of 60s and 70s in the catches so that year-class seems well present in the Daly - some misgivings were expressed in another post about a missing year class.

Down around Elizabeth/No Fish has been producing fish. Not much run-off left tho, but that don't mean much.

What I find interesting is my mate CLP Warren said ramp would open at Easter time.
I also believe the ramp too Tomato Island is open despite reports from CLP Warren to the contrary................ anyone confirm?

AFANT and NT Tourism also pushed hard for their members. But at the end of the day it shouldn't have taken a massive pressure campain to get someone to do their job.

Cheers Matt. glad to get the info re Daly. am hoping to spend a week down there start of May. A couple of good mates were down there 10 days ago and did quite well. trolled up 2x 1m+ fish outside elizabeth on the push in tide. plus as you also reported a stack of 60-70s outside all the creek mouths. they also trekked to the mouth and fished a couple of coastals, no good though. seems its the medium fish up inside that will be most productive.
