Does anyone use a barometer to measure barometric pressure to predict fishing feeding behaviour before heading out for a fish, or noticed any trends in barometric pressure that affect fishing?

I keep an eye on the synoptic charts online and my phone has a barometer in it.
I just use it as a general guide. The fish seem to come on the chew a bit more when it's over 1020 and moving. They like the changing.

I know that trout used to come on the bite while the pressure was rising just before it levelled out of started to drop compared to other times

Another southerner here.
"1020 - fish aplenty" is the old adage.
A proven recipe for estuary and freshwater species.
Stable or rising barometer with these higher pressures were a great sign of a sure bite.

For surface fisho's - "when the barometer is rising, so are the fish".

well, bar pressures on a specific area are the result of weather,,weather as in humidity, sun, moon locations, time of day, wind directions, etc. at 1020 after a heavy rain the night before could change the game or play even solunar fishing cant be relied on. I think, the best is, rely on your own experiences and logs its easy to forget the nature of the day if you haven't logged it in diary, goodluck.
