Barra fishing charter in July! Who?

Post by volkoff »

My father is coming up in the end of July for my daughters first birthday. He's not much of a fisherman. Well he tends to get a liitle sick out in the blue water. So I would like to find a good barra charter I could take him on . Maybe on the daly river or something for a day trip, where it is a little flatter. . As I am new to Darwin I am not real knowledgable on who to use. So guys who do you recommend for a great day out?

Hi Volkoff. I would start by looking at the companies that advertise on this forum. Just look around this page at the billboards and click on the ad which will take you to the sites.

Cheers

Hi Volkoff, you may want to look closer to Darwin. Daley river is 4 hours from Darwin. Fishing Charters are 1 day (8 or 10 hours).
Maybe consider calling Crab Claw Resort and ask who they use (Bynoe Harbour - plenty of creeks to fish). You might even treat your Dad to a night there. They do some fishing from their Jetty at night.

Try Darwin Barra and crab. They do day or half day charters in the harbour. Carl catches plenty out of the harbour and would be a good choice under the circumstances and colder conditions around that time of year. He also does the usual haunts of corroborri and those places as well if ya choose to do billabongs.

2nd Darwin Barra and Crab. Carl's a dry season harbour barra (& meter+ Daly barra) specialist. You'll maximise your time on the water by going in the harbour.

You might keep in mind that Back-Cast (above), a keen contributor to this forum, also runs a day fishing barra operation with much success for his clients.

I can only speak from my experience. But yes there are other operators out there.
