I'm sure this has happened to most people in some shape or form. The question is how did you handle it?

I don't dislike camfish .I'm not jealous and I have already posted my metries.BenH wrote:Jealousy is a curse isn't it??seano wrote:Pet goldfish on livebait-who cares? Last year when that other bloke caught a metre plus from one of the lakes (on a lure) he didn't claim to be in the metre club.
Yeah they speak abit of poop, what fisherman doesn't to various degrees.
Get over your dislike for Camfish, and accept its a good barra, regardless of how and where it was caught.
If not, show us all your metreys??

My younger brother claimed a high school sweetheart, after we'd split up, & had the habit of telling me the intimacies of their relationship. I've never recovered.Ben Jam wrote:I'm sure this has happened to most people in some shape or form. The question is how did you handle it?

Why so dismissive then?? A good fish is a good fish, whether Camfish or anyone else caught it!seano wrote:I don't dislike camfish .I'm not jealous and I have already posted my metries.BenH wrote:Jealousy is a curse isn't it??seano wrote:Pet goldfish on livebait-who cares? Are u dismissive because cam/Bellfish caught it or because its a freshwater Barra or because it was caught on live bait (a sin punishable by death it seems)??

It is a big fish and caught not far from my house. And it was meant as a bit of a stir. Plus all the b.s. associated with the capture task the shine off of it.

Re: Who is the rightful owner of the metre fish?
According to the International Game Fish Association International Angling Rules http://www.igfa.org/images/uploads/file ... nglish.pdf
Angling Regulations
1. From the time that a fish strikes or takes a bait or lure, the angler must hook, fight, and land or boat the fish without the aid of any other person, except as provided in these regulations.
The following acts will disqualify a catch:
2. The act of persons other than the angler in touching any part of the rod, reel, or line (including the double line) either bodily or with any device, from the time a fish strikes or takes the bait or lure, until the fish is either landed or released
If we were operating under International rules there would be no question as to who's fish it was. As soon as Bellfish picked up the rod, he would be the only one who could claim it. But of course we do things a little different in the Territory.......
