The bastards are talking about a pay rise already , they want to re-establish the link on pay between the Federal politicians and the territory a..holes. .
If they get the linked pay deal back Mills will be looking at a $50,000 a year pay rise. If they don't he will only get a piddling $30,000.
So much for belt tightening .
It seems only us plebs have to tighten the belt.

Dirtyruiz everything on a blog that is written by a group of legal academics must be 100% fact. Not to mention an ex labor politician :bs: :bs:

No matter what we can't change the government of the day, but we can voice our opinions and try to influence policy, we just need to work together. I have a lot of mates on both of the major teams and I reckon they all need a regular kick up the Khyber Pass!

Lets face it the population of the whole Territory is around the same as some large rural cities down South, some of us know these people personally and need to humbug them at every chance. Take a leaf out of Kezia 's book and let them know you are not happy!

Note the part about the previous governments projected debt in relation to upgrading power and water services. That is an example of why a government would borrow money, if you'd rather get a 30% increase in your bill matter for you. Bottom line is the debt the NT has is nothing in reality, on a national or international comparison is is incredibly low, and healthy.

That's cute mate!

I'm happy to borrowed money IOT invest, but the NT government never pass those cost onto consumer!! (the reason why PWC is in the poop) So how does the new investment pay for itself? It's not a very good investment if your not getting a return!! You don't need a economics degree to work that one out.

Youve gotta love politics.
I agree with punter in that they need a nose ring inserted so we (the public) can direct them to where they should go.
Remember that laws are supposed to reflect the community attitudes. If we dont tell'em, they have no idea and will just wander around aimlesly

Well as I see it Millsy with his deceitful ways has condemned the NT to another or multiple term/s of Labor governments. He is the best thing going for them. People were worried about Labor BUT are downright terrified of the CLP now. These monkeys wont get voted in again I dont believe.
After ten or so years in the political wilderness and the goose cuts his and the CLP's throat.
If anyone is naive enough to believe that prices/taxes/fees will drop once the initial savings are realised you better open your eyes. To this day the "levy" that the Labor government put on territory registration some 5-6 years ago has become just another permanent increase.
And now these greedy grubs are eyeing off a pay rise? :banghead: :hunting: Take it on the chin Millsy just like we had to take it up the :moon: from you. Enjoy your four years in power as you are going to be consigned to the scrapheap of history :fu: :fu:

will be interesting

The cynic in me thinks they will let Millsy and Lambley go along making all the hard decisions. I give it two years and either Tolner or Kezia or a combination of both will take the reigns going in to the next election. Millsy has a long proud history of getting shafted by his own party and looks like he will again here. They will be hoping the average Joe will blame Millsy and welcome change with open arms and hopefuly get re elected. Again cynical I know but the media (which has a huge CLP bias up here) seem to making Kezia out to be the best thing since sliced bread. Will be intresting to see if it happens and even more intresting to see if the public are gullible enough to fall for it. On current form i would say its odds on.

Steady as she goes, from Hendo, Going further into debt was never going to be good.
But Mills putting everything up at once, is crazy. :bonk: :bonk:
I think everybody was ready for some increases, but not all at once.
Giving $ 5200 to the People living in the Outback , to renovate their homes, that most of them would be Living in Government Owned homes any rate has p.ssed me off the most. :fubird:

The biggest thing everybody has to look forwards too, is when Liberals beat Labor in the next Federal Election.
Everything is going to be the same, only on a bigger scale.

I spent 12years working out bush in communities Ive seen what they do to the houses , they can totally wreck a house in less than 6months , they don't give a toss about the housing because they get it for free. It's about time the Govt woke up and stopped supplying houses for them , $5200 won't even get the cr.p off the roof that the kids throw up there..
