Post by Tightlines2 »

G'day gents,
Is anyone able to screenshot a google maps picture of the creek in shoal bay that is a lock in on a low tide?

Hey mate,

Pending tides most creeks are lock in one's. Depending on size of low tide height will determine how much water will hold in holes or creeks. This all changes constantly with large tidal movement and channels change locations throughout each year.

Cheers mate. Not massive tides today but we fished the marked spot today and had plenty of hits right towards the mouth. Saw a couple of good sized barra smash the surface as well. Would be perfect for a lock in if this creek does allow it.

Some big Barra go through that creek. That's micketts creek. That first hole on first push of larger tides usually the time. Lives or lures will work. The first left hand creek as you go upstream does well on mud crabs. Fresh bait is key.

Big barra push up Meckits with the first run of tide, I used to fish off the bank there when permits were available and there would be big boofs when the tide got going and then it would go quiet.
