If the boat costs are shared, fuel, bait, ice, cleaning etc then yes share.
But unfortunately most deckies never chip in and don't understand the costs of repairs/maintenance etc. . Don't see why it should be 50/50 regardless as I have never seen a deckie chip in for the boat repayment, servicing and maintenance side of things. Sharing any additional lure packs etc is fair..... If that makes me less of a human by someone else's standards then so be it. :fu:

Just curious.....
If you went out with a guide on a guided boat and caught a barra worth 10 grand would you fork over the 10 because it's his boat and he makes the repayments, maintenance etc?
Like i said just curious

Also my comments were just my opinion not a personal attack so no need for the harrasing attitude on those that think different to you all high and mighty Anon :jester:

Don't see that as an attack at all mate.
You bring an interesting question to the table. If you have paid to be guided than the guide is doing his job. So it's a bit different. As his maintenance costs and payments are all factored into the daily rate. In saying that you would probably throw the guide a tip for sure

Now reverse the table and ask would that guide give you the trip for free given he will receive a poop tonne of business because of that catch.

Then of course weigh in your own personal circumstances and really no one has the right to comment on what has, should of or could have been done. No one really knows anyone else situation or business.....

So if someone paid your running cost for the day in your boat and got the fish worth the coin it would be fair to say that the prize money is theirs and not yours?

If the deckie got the fish in my boat and had paid the way then the cash is theirs to do with it how they see fit. The cash could help them in their personal situation and he caught the fish. What right do I have to take that away from them.

I was saying my opinion but without the rude fingers like you did

Also the way you wrote that is like you have had an issue on this topic which is news to me given I haven't been on the forum for a year so maybe you took my opinion to heart thinking it was a go which is wasn't, it was my personal beliefs but not an insult directed at anyone so once again I ask you to rethink your comments involving the rude fingers because that is a bit rude for a family friendly forum.... Kids read this stuff you know

Personal circumstances are we are all fishos and the blokes I fish with all have the un written rules and follow by them bit like the army with never leave a man behind, guess you're a different sort of fella to them guys but Jesus did make us all different for a reason and hence I why we are totally different when it comes to opinions on what's the right thing to do etc

Praise the lord brother and God bless
