So of the 43 watercraft deaths how many were actually fisherman ? Skiing or skylarking and not croc related of the 87 drug and alcohol deaths how many were actually Australian and not backpackers and all would either be in waterholes or back yard pools so how are those stats relevant to the recreational fisho ?
Any of those NT drownings have anything to do with recreational boats?
What you guys need someone to wipe your bum? Google it and find out

Common sense would say control your p..s out on the boat but common sense isn't all that common so and opens the door to regulation and then all the yahoos complain about that regulation. I don't think I would be bothered about if we had a limit or not but one thing for sure is that this place is vastly different to what it used to be. I am born and bread and the times are just so much different and the place so much busier. The waterways are no different in that regard. If we are to keep our freedoms we are going to have to accept some change along the way.

The thing I want most is to be able to safely take a young family out on the water without fear of dickheads so they can enjoy what we have and be part of its preservation when they to get older.

If you get done DUI on the water does that mean you automatically loose your license on land.

I do overnighter so everyone on board can have afew beers during the day and some more at night. The next day someone always pulls up (usually the skipper) to drive home.

Would not give a poo if they breath tested me at the ramp as I know I will under . If they tested 50 km offshore , mouth of shady or the south I can pretty much guarantee I will be over and I get done DUI.

Police the drunk wankas at the ramp and leave the water way for us territorian who loves a beer ( or 24) while fishing.

To answer your question...

Yes, licenses are linked in other states...Get caught drinking on boat license, you lose car license...!
Unless its changed in the last year or so, this is incorrect. I quizzed Vicroads and the Victorian transport authority over this a little while ago, as every weekend I was likely to be miles over .05 in a fishing boat or ski boat while living in Vic, car licencing is governed/regulated by Vic roads, boat licencing is controlled by some other bunch of wank ers. I have had friends lose their car licences over loss of points and DUI, but they could still drive the boat on the weekends. The fines for being caught over .05 in the boat were huge though

As for the original question, simply no. That's what makes this place great, a lot of things are left to common sense, rather than being made idiot proof and wrapping everyone in cotton wool. Id be interested to know many boating accidents in the territory have actually been directly linked to alcohol consumption?

Re the overnighters...........I think you'll find it will be inline with other states: Breath testing, including random breath testing (RBT), can be conducted on the operator of a vessel while it is underway, including drifting. RBT does not apply when a vessel is moored, berthed or at anchor.

Ive wiped out so many brain cells over the years from grog that I need every last one I have left to be in good working order at all times. 8) I often wonder how peole would go if they were blind as a bat at anchor miles from anywhere and things turned to poop.
