Is there a dud lure colour(s) for barra?
Another thread asked about the old Elton John lure colour ...
Which got me thinking about the "famous" old barra colours ...
Elton John
Fluoro
Bleeding Mullet
Chartreuse
Must be a few more???? Black lures and white lures always had their place, specially black poppers and tiny white soft plastics. And gold ...
So it seems, almost any colour works
So the question is ... are there any colours that are no good for barra?

No expert but in my experience, I have never had any fish take a lure with a lot or little bit of blue.
I'm sure the do but not for me.
That's my 5 cents worth.

That's so funny my fav colour is blue. got my second biggest Barra of 114 on a blue squidy. And it is my go to colour.
At Corrobree we have 20 Barra in a session all on blue lures.

Yeh, I was going to say blue but I'll shut up now
I remember blue and white Spearheads were popular in Corroboree years ago, I bet the older barra can still remember them

Pink. Or maybe I just didn't want to look like a sissy fishing with pink lures

Don't see too many clear plastic ones, often wondered if they would be the go, just a small bit of flash strip on the inside

Yeah not a big fan of blue for barra but the work off shore ok.
But this year ALL colours are failing so far , might go back to Live bait

Red is probably my worst colour if it is dominant. Little bits work well but not as a complete colour. Blue is hit or miss. It either goes off or not at all. Blue bling at roper or blue and white in other rivers goes nuts when they are on. Pink catches plenty of fish when the water is the right colour. Black at night or in really clean water. I think a lot of the battle is finding the right depth, speed and action or just finding the bl..dy fish in the first place.

Found pink shine shads work a treat in freshwater. Barra and sleepy cod both love them.
I'm going to go yellow... Never worked for me on anything
So far kryptonite has been the colour of choice this year...

Never seen one in reidys b52,s though. The aqua rats and goulbourn jacks used to have a yellow and black that rocked in corroboree.

I think contrast of colours is important in certain water. More so than a particular whole colour
