I'd go halves - in the fillets.

I would go halves in the hangover the next morning if I jagged it!!

I mean, when you buy a family member, relo, mate, etc a lotto ticket or scratchies as a birtday/xmas/etc gift, do you enter into a formal agreement as to the split up of the winnings before you hand it over

Around 30 years ago, a mate won $10k in the scratchy he was given as a present – split it 50/50
Then bugger me, a few years later, the mate who had won the 10k bought the same fella a scratchy and it won $2k.
The other bloke kept the lot - not a cent, nada, zip not even a beer was bought. I would have flogged him

I reckon 90/10 as a starting point. 90% to the catcher (boat owner or deckie) the remainder to the poor bugger watching on. When there's 3 or more people and the catcher is one of the deckies then they need to be a bit more generous as the boat owner should get 10% min. How much people get depends if you want to have any friends . A few years back a mate hooked an 85 cm barra at the Finniss mouth in my boat. Video evidence shows hooks pulled out with the fish at the edge of the boat and me netting a completely free and wild barra. He claimed it, I let him, I'm not so sure if it had a red tag.

i would go halves this is the disscussion i have with anyone who gets on my boat i would take waNT MY SHARE IF SOMEONE CAUGHT IT ON MY BOAT so why not give the deckie 500k he netted it but could you guys imagine it really think about it bellfish and camfish have caught the million dollar barra together the site would go into turmoil if we had ammunition like that

Depends what is agreed before you start, fair share between all on board if thats agreed b4 starting whether its $10 or $1m, must say it could bite you on the ass big time if its everyman for himself, trolling a few lures its a lottery, so 1/2 or 1/3 or whatever is better than nought, way my boat rolls anyway its shared evenly
Although a scenario could be, left with 3 on board, million dollar barra caught, retrieved the boat myself with million dollar barra, sweet lol
