That's full on Swoffa. I have seen comments from researchers and victims that say a bad Irukanji sting is full body pain of the worst kind.
A bad stonefish sting is supposed to be terrible too, lot of them around in the shallows in muddy water.
Howabout this old post, Hawkeye stung by a stingray in Shoal Bay ... post40207.html?hilit=stung#p40207

Had a laugh (and a cringe) at the old posts. A couple of mates from the desert were fishing off the pier in Cairns about 10 years ago and both the idiots were stung by a stonefish (assumably) and both ended up in hospital. 5 weeks later mate #1 unwrapped his hand bandage to reveal most of his palm gone from half way across the thumb to between the last 2 fingers. Bones, sinew and the like exposed like an actor from the walking dead. Nothing could be done until the poison stopped eating at the flesh. Pain plus was the report.
Worst pain I remember at the moment was scaling a 98 Barra with a tea spoon in the dark (don't ask) and anal spike (big) going under the thumb nail all the way in to the hilt.

Re: Have you ever been stung by a box jellyfish?
I got stung today on my arm when removing muck from my lure. Hot stings for a while, I have a red welt tonight.
It was no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be.
This was the first time ever and not being from around here (we have just moved to Darwin) was concerned it might be serious. A big thanks to my fishing charter guide who told me to man up and keep fishing, which I duly did.

The little bullrouts and fortescues down south pack a punch.
There is a fish (up north) called "happy moments" (rabbitfish), they don't usually take lures but are caught on small baits, they pack a real punch. I caught one off Hotham, can't recall why I was using small baits at Hotham tho, think I saw them swimming around and wanted to know what they were

Boxies, meh, been nailed by heaps in the cast net etc. Happy Moments (scats), yeah they're no fun, but good Barra bait. Well overdue for a stingray/stonefish sting, considering how much time I've spent wading the shallows with the castanet over the years. Touch wood it never happens, don't live bait much anymore anyway.

Scats and Happy Moments are completely different fish Scott.
A Scat spike feels like a handjob in comparison to a Happy Moment(Rabbitfish).

Apparently they are nasty but misunderstood!!! Then they just go away.
Sounds like a solution here.
