blind eye

Aye, maybe twaz a little cynical Jim, but this sort of thing does happen.

Even if the government manages it well, that still doesn't solve the issues of more people, more traffic, more pollution etc

I've no doubt it's on the way regardless. I'll have to buy some rose-coloured glasses so it looks good.

Jimmy.. the current NT GOV have done SFA for fisherman and for the environment...

As for turning a blind eye to problems I could name a few but then I might be unable to get another job in darwin if I left where I am currently :???:

The current minister (Chris Natt) is a man with with know idea what is going on in his own portfolio... he proved this whit his incorrect comments about the blue mud bay decissionand the MRM issue. He and his advisors need the bullet :hunting: :hunting: .

I have no doubt that any new plant in Darwin would have an adverse afect on our harbour. Just look at the issues Sydney are having with there chem plants... you can't even eat the fish you catch because of chemical leaching.... the reporting of spills in Darwin is non existant!

If you want the whole story ask people who work in the industry... not some wanker in the department who has no idea or dosn't want to cause a ripple

I'll get off my soap box now :smoking:

Well you can call me cynical also, because I wouldn't want to see it built anywhere up here, but after seeing this Gov in action it's probably going to happen and there's 3 BILLION reasons why it will. It's amazing how quick legislation / laws can get changed and how quickly it can happen when there's big $ 's waving about.

Plus it wont be just the Chemical Company on its own. As they stated in the NT News all the other spin off company's will follow.

It's about time some of these :fubird: pollies and there entrenched public servant mates :fubird: had the guts to put a long term plan in place, instead of all this short term game crud. It's easier not to make a mess, than have to clean it up later.

The Darwin skyline already looks like a cheap Chinese knock off of the Gold Coast, all the new house's look like they're from a Melb / Syd outer suburbs Why! Why!

The NT used to have it's own unique personality what happened?

It would be nice if our kids were still able to do in 20 yrs what we do and take for granted today.(soap box complete)

PS: Matt when ya get those rose coloured glasses better get em to etch a few tree's and animals around the edges aswell.
Live it and ENJOY
Cant save the world from idiots as they'll just build a better one!
Wouldn't need rules if people did the right thing!
PSST There maybe crocodiles in the water

I don’t think it matters it is all about money and changing to a state.

Also if people really cared about the enviroment they would all have 4 stroke outboards drive a hybrid car and not live in a house that requires air conditioning.
Fishhard reel service a cast past the rest
