Thanks Tristian. I don't think the current design is too popular, I can't imagine it gaining more popularity if it costs an extra million.

Surely nobody is still excited about this! New government, we want it, guess what, construction ain't starting until you need to vote them back in to get it sorted. That ramp is officially on hold....

I hope it's on hold. We have the whole wet season to talk them out of it.

Re: Construction Tender for Shady Camp Boat Ramp Released
I thought it was just me not wanting it.
What was it like Tristan when afant had to come to a position on it? Was it just the committee that were consulted or members too. (not haveing a go I know it's hard to get everyone's opinion if they can't be arsed to come to a meeting.) I know it was a decision of upgrade existing or nothing. But honestly would prefer nothing and either spend the money elsewhere. Or imo would be better off putting a dirt track in down stream and another bank launch. Even it it was seasonal, and all the other negatives that would come with this. It must be possible if some one ( I'm guessing the pastrolist) is putting something in there, can only guess what it will be.
At least then there's a long term plan. Look at the road to Dundee, only one bridge left to do, ramp is happening. Even the road to shady camp is almost all sealed now. If when they were putting the oringal ramp in and wanted it first class from the start there's no way it would ever happen.
Is there any chance afant would change their current position on this? Again not having a go or trying to back you into a corner, happy to give you a call If you perfer

I would be happy enough if they scraped back all the loose material off the existing launch area and put down a concrete slipway that could be scraped clean whenever it silted up too much. That said the gravel is forgiving on the prop.

The clearing in the photo is at the first creek downstream on the right from the mud island. Pretty sure you will find they have blocked it off so they could repair the barrages in that creek. Lots of machinery and loads of rock being dropped in there at present. I would imagine that once the barrages are complete they will clear away the black soil they have pushed across the front of the creek.
