I was wondering what happened to that Jason guy, now I know. Most likely away recovering after having a limb wrenched off in some crazy accident read lunatic stunt gone wrong out on the "wild fronteir" . One down two to go. Sorry but I didnt get through em all, the first one with the crocs was enough for me. Once you start paying for gear it dosent seem as much fun to break it.

Re: These boys go the extra yards ...
Definitely was one of my favorite fishing shows. I enjoyed Jason and Rodo's basic presenting style as it was unique and a bit of a laugh. Plus the places they go are unreal. This season I've kept watching, but only out of interest of where they go. With regards to what has been said on the commercialisation, they have definitely gone overboard. It just ruins the flow of the episode as you get 2-3 mins then a plug, then another minute of the show, then an ad etc etc....

The 60 minute advertisement that used to be a four wheel drive show is on right now - I wont be wasting my time watching it anymore - seems every second phrase out of ther mouths is EFS - if they need feed back there it is - how about showing some good footage as opposed to 60 minutes of which 45 to 50 minutes is just them advertising product!!
Cheers

I'll pass this on to Jason, again.
At the end of the day the sponsors pay the bills, and they would have hefty bills as they usually go to remote areas.
No good if viewers are turned off though.
I don't know how long it takes for negative viewer feedback to make sponsors pull out ... maybe some never do?

Re: These boys go the extra yards ...
The boys need to do some research before they destroy the roads and gear. I can’t believe the station owners would let wipe out some of the tracks.
I watched a couple of shows last year and the way they did things was flat out dangerous for the average punter – that’s what the show is aimed at.
They were winching with no air brake, etc. etc. Snatching the wrong way. Do your homework fellas and show people the right way to do things.
I used to run 4wd tours to Cape York etc. and most of the punters had limited skills and relied on us to get them there. That’s why they were there. But the vast majority wanted to run thru deep rivers and spray water everywhere as they raced along the beach. Because that’s what they saw on tv
I explained that those people being winched out of water etc. were sponsored and they just get new gear when they blew up. We have to pay for it out of our own pockets.
Remember guys, its not just a fishing show, its an adventure show. Good on them for getting out there. they have the right idea but the wrong process
BUT, if they keep doing 30 minute advertorials, more people will switch off. Me included

Re: These boys go the extra yards ...
I think where they could improve is with the editing of the show. It seems all over the place at times. An example being they'll come back from an ad break, they'll be doing something for 5-10 seconds, then they go into the cooking segment, or the 4x4 tips segment. There doesn't seem to be any flow where you're watching some good fishing or 4x4 action for 5-10 mins.
Still a top show and Jason seems like a good guy. Absolutely filthy I missed yesterdays show. Were they at the Moyle?
