Should we have a "FFF" approved brag mat??

Talk about the gear you can't afford and knots you can't tie.

Thats the go trent! if you get a real fat barra around the 90cm mark, you are a good show for a metery.

Now, where did the woman hide that tape...

About the tape measure my comment was directed at those saying tape measures aren't accurate !!! I wouldn't use my tape measure to measure fish especially a $26 tape as it would only last one trip !!
As for people saying what does it matter if it's only a cm or 2 it matter a bit to make sure everyone is on a even playing field really.. I think it was nomad who said fish at Palmerston game fishing club aren't accepted if mouth is open why do you think that is ????

Yeah the PGFC eliminate your entry if the gob is open. Thats their rules.
Matt said its ok. I had a 67 down the Daly last week who wouldnt shut its mouth no matter what i did. Must have already changed sex (ducks for cover) :D

I was talking to the boys last weekend and they said the reason the PGFC hands out the new measurer (no longer alum this year) is that people had whinged about the variations in mats.

Someone said that they had used a hair dryer to shrink the vinyl brag mat. :bonk:

Im going to use a big arse lpg burner and shrink mine to 1/2 size. I entered a fish once (not like that!) where I had folded the brag mat over on itself a couple of times as a shitstir. I had a metre long fish = whoohoo
The funny thing was that noone picked it up til i mentioned it.

Now my secret is out Matt

Thanks for the heads up nomad.

Any mats that look dodgy may see fish eliminated from the points system - judge's decision final on what constitutes dodgy

I'll update the rules.

I wouldn't care if someone put their foot next to it and estimated the size and called their fish a metery, who cares.
Ha ha ha ha ha Best line of the month! Before competitions we used to measure them by our mates response......"Nah its cr.p....chuck it back" means its one of the bigger ones youve caught....."Yeah its awroight" means its definately your PB......"OK I'll give you that..Just" Means Its the biggest fish weve ever caught mate and I hate you!!!
Well said Passenger...
Its not a crisis unless there is blood around.
If there is blood around......well its a police matter...
