Handlines or Rods

Talk about the gear you can't afford and knots you can't tie.

Do you prefer handlines or rods for bottom bouncing ?

There's always room for a handline on my tinny, 6-7 kilo bluebones in 4-5 meters of bommy strewn water nothing else will do the job. As for jewies, sneaking in among the pylons and hooking them on 150-200 lb lines is awesome fun (ay Dodgy?).
As for general bottom bouncing I like to use a 10-15 kg stick just under 6 ft and 30 lb braid on an overhead (a bit easier on my back)
I'm not saying gimme a handline over a rod but sometimes they're good fun and you generally can release fish in better condition.

Happiness is having fishy fingers with a stiff rod in your hand!!!

Your onto it Daisy. Fishing in an area as big as your lounge with 8 or so barnacle encrusted pylons all around you makes you work for your fish. Even the little jewies can still smoke you..

Heading down to Wickham for a dive next Sunday if your keen for a catch up. Hitting De Lambre Island.
