Re: Which GPS/Sounder combo - gen2 touch 9, NSS8 or 751
Got the HDS 12, very user friendly, only prob is mine is mounted on top of the centre console and the screen cracked on the left hand corner...warranty came good so got another one...still new to the structurer scan, I leave the structure scan transducer up when traveling, only put in down when sounding around....but love the colour definition on the sounder, reading the bottom...bigger map better for ageing eyes

Raymarine have the Dragonfly & this is a Fish Finder, GPS Chart plotter with Downvision.
The lighthouse user interface is super easy to use. Its just like an IPhone basically.
Its the cheapest they do.
You can get them locally for around $900 Or at ch smith's $670:
http://www.chsmith.com.au/Products/Raym ... r-GPS.html
(This is with Transducer)
Just plug and play, no messing around. (although i would perform a software update, available at Raymarine's website)
The picture is of a RM Dragonfly (flush mount) & a downvision screenshot of turtles (A user put the screen shot in to Raymarine's competition to win back the value of his Dragonfly)
If you want the larger RM units, i would go on e-bay - US (Where i got mine) and saved $1500 even with import duties.
Loads of videos on Youtube on RM stuff.

Expensive RM CHIRP / Downvision stuff:
You can get the New A78 series for around $1600.
But if you want a larger screen size it’s the E series: 7” – 16”. $1500 - $4000. Depending on where you purchases.
To enable CHIRP & Downvision on the E series:
You will need to purchases the CP100 & a Transducer CPT100 – The Transom mount type.
Both for $670:

Yes, you just need to download the RM free app.
It works well with the Fusion Stereo as well. You can skip tracks pause ect.... on the RM unit.
You can also download the Navionics app on the Ipad / IPhone and create way points routes ect..... & sync them to the RM unit once on the boat.
I do this when board at work

before sourcing overseas speak to the local dealers see if they will match or at least come close. My raymarine was not alot different in price to overseas. Should try support local business where can. If they dont want to be reasonable with there price then sure shop around.
