How'd you go with your existing data Pete? - did they manage to recover & upload to the new unit, or do you gotta do that yourself ?

Mine is getting worse each trip - keeps powering off on the slightest wave/ripple now. Got to pick a time when I don't need it for a month :banghead: :banghead: & send it south .

It can be a real problem in big swells, over shallow sandbars, at night with no moon, relying on your sounder to stay in the channel, and PHITSZZZ :captain: :bricks:

Hi Slug
No, I have my data backed up so will just load the card. The guys at In&Out said that Lowrance Oz just bin them.

I had the same problem re powering off when I first bought mine. I tracked it to a dodgy power lead. Not power connection, fuse blah blah, but a break in the wire inside the lead about half way along. A manufacturing fault. Same thing happened with a Humminbird side beam I had. Couldn't get the bastard to recognise the GPS. Turned out it was a dodgy lead.

I initially had a lot of trouble with Lowarance leads until I&O supplied new ones. They loaned me new ones to test and hay presto - no problemo.

Hope your problem is that simple.

Today my LCX 25 wouldnt fire up. Have power to the unit, 11.8v but not turning on. This unit is also not saving waypoints to the sd card, put it in the puter, 'no files'. How does one save waypoints to back up on the computer? cant get them off the navtronics card. And is I&O the place to send for repair?
Would be grateful for any further assistance (I have read the above posts)
