Re: Best battery charger
Hey rosco84 if you are interested in the Redarc DC:DC charger/MPPT, I am looking to test some of this stuff out shortly in my boat along with the blanket type solar panel. I will let you know how it goes, but from what I can gather it looks to be quality gear and a great way to maximise the charge to your aux battery and prolong the battery life. Ill keep you posted if I end up doing this. Im looking at the BDC1225 as my alternator is only 25amp anyway.

Rosco. have a yarn with Aaron Caden @ A&C Auto Electrics.. you might find it easier to uprate the alt output on your vehicle.
" YOUTH is a GIFT "

"No angler watches nature in a passive way...He enters into its very existence." (John Bailey...Reflections on a Waters Edge)

Well to be a real pedant ohms law states that electric current is proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance and very little else however in common use the equations generally derived from ohms law are V=IR and P=IV, the rest was just waffle to try and sound smart without adding value.
QLD will do an admirable job of upsetting their "chamces" without my help.

Re: Best battery charger
Ronje, I asked in a matter of people's experience and opinion in different equipment not for a a full debrief on voc and power factor because of inductive and resistive loads, haha,
Any way all good think ill just bite the bullet and start with dc to dc charger

interesting , think i found a formula that may provide a lot of insight into this problem .GoodLookinPete wrote:Well to be a real pedant ohms law states that electric current is proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance and very little else however in common use the equations generally derived from ohms law are V=IR and P=IV, the rest was just waffle to try and sound smart without adding value.

Rosco
Its a matter of supreme indifference to me what you do. You asked for general advice which you got from a number of sources including me. Then your mate GLP chimed in with some smart-aleck half-baked comments directed at me personally so I took him to task. As I said, If someone is going to be a smart-arse then they should at least get it right.
As I said I'm sorry he did that on your question but as you can see my response was directed at him not you.
However, it seems that you want to say more about it. Pity that. You can take your silly bl..dy "ha ha " juvenile expressions and shove them.
GLP
You directed your silly bl..dy pedantic technical comments at me. So I responded. If you still want to be smart-arse then you can shove it too.
Still can't get the technicalities right eh?
There are a couple of real bright specimens on the forum that both of you might find value in getting better acquainted with.

Re: Best battery charger
Looks like u've already found them.
They're currently on my ignore list anyway. I added you and your pedantic mate about half an hour ago.
So I won't hear anything from either of you.
Can I suggest that you and he do the same thing?
Then we'll all be happy ignoring each other without unpleasantness.
