AGM Deep cycle cyclic Batteries

Post by shaggs »

How do these batteries perform for running your trolling motor
Got a NCP 105-12 for my Motorguide 55/60 to push a 4.2 punt
I haven't use it yet but just chasing opinions on if it will be enough

I have a 120 AH Exide, had a few of them over the years. I can't fault it, had this one about three years. You just need to keep them on a maintenance charge when not in use , it will extend their life three fold. Last one lasted a touch over six years.

Actually I have three AGMs in the boat, House, Electronics & Minn Kota. On the water they charge from the outbard in that same order via two VSR's. At home they each have their own C-tek charger which which are timed so they are on a maintenance charge one day each week.

Just make sure when you come home from fishing you put it on charge straight away, you wreck them by running them down and not charging them right away
Cheers
