Just a few of the blue salmon caught casting lures on the weekend. Heaps of them around at the moment we had double hookups a few times.

:lolpoint:

Happens to everyone eventually, some days are just not your day.

Tiny little Barcoo grunter caught while trying to catch a few livies. Just for something different for the year. I have only caught these up to around 200-300mm and threw him back.

No barra landed this trip... plenty of follows ups and short strike swings on the lure : a big strada but didn't change it though. :banghead:

Massive croc in here this year too. :croc:

Tried all over the place today even hitting up 2 of the spots with livies . .. Channel island beach,Elizabeth river bridge, the wharf rockwall, cullen bay /mindil corner, and lee point beach . ... all for a solid Doughnut not even a strike

Got this little tacker in the net but unsure of what species ... got a few juvenile ock ock which i threw back too.

the fish in the first pic is definitely a barcoo ninja its jaw structure is like a striped grunter not anything like a sooty but otherwise they're pretty much identical.

The 2nd tiny fish pictured was caught in the creek near inpex ( saltwater) possibly a juvenille pikey :? ? But it has horizontal stripes where the pikeys are just silver? ? Would've been great in a big saltwater tank I'm going to get baby jacks this year for mine.

Got an entire net full of fish similar to happy moments on the first cast too :banghead: ........ NOT FUN.!

Went Channel Island yesterday had two strikes with live bait, will have another crack today. Flicken have you tried in front of the Deck Chair cinema always seem to do well along that rock wall on a high tide. Even caught good fish floating pillies 5 metres off those rocks.

Shook off the donut curse today with a trip to Bynoe.
Was tasked from the wife to get some fillets for the freezer so off to flick the flats for some nice silver Barra.
They were on when the Gulp Prawns hit the water and caught maybe 14 or 15 and kept a few.

Tristan I use a 1/6 or 1/4 ounce jig head and a 3" prawn. Just flick em' out and retrieve slowly. Don't know why they're so good, bugger all action but the Barra love them...About all I use in Darwin and Bynoe Harbours now.
Great for the kids to use too. So easy and they hardly ever get snagged.
