Some hungry cod getting about! Got these 2 down at the creek this morning, trying to eat a 5 inch paddle tail.

Some pics of a couple of trips over last few weeks.
Did a night fish a few weeks back with stepdaughter. Was slower going. I dropped everything I hooked. She landed on legal and lost a good fish around the 90s after a ten minute fight.

Did a short trip to the arm last Saturday to perfect conditions. Sighted plenty of Barra, Queenie's, golden trevs and a large giant herring on the flats. 4th cast in a willing Barra connected a short fight and we had a nice 73cm bazz in the net. About 15mins later spotted a yellow tail in amongst the baby mangroves. First cast produced a nice little 60. Zman frogs working a treat as usual. As the tide dropped the Barra got a lot more flighty. Spotted a muddie cruising the flats managed to spear him. Nice big Buck but had no claws. Crossed over to some drains I have caught fish at previously just before low. First drain produce a 71 on a mmd mullet. A few drains later and boated a 59cm bazz. Had 4 legals and a size muddie in Esky by 11:30 even though we got to the spot at 7:30am. Not bad for four hours work. Decided to head to mouth of harbour to see if the Queenie's were about. We found a small pod of longtaild and tons of large Queenie's. They were eating tiny bait and only 15g lures got their attention. Have up on the Queenie's as there were a few boats coming flying in and spooking schools.

Sunday did a run out to sailcity. Got the usual trickiest, cod and a small trout on the jigs along with bait. The Mack tuna were thick. Ended up stocking up on some jewie and crab bait. Dropping the jig lower produced some nice golden trevs and a couple of small cobes. There were a few small grey and spotted Mack's interfering with slow pitch jigging and the large bull sharks proved to be a pest again with four under the boat upto 10-12foot long. Lumpy ride back to the ramp and an odd sunset on drive home.

Cheer

What's the go with all the baby cod at the moment, it doesn't matter if your lure fishing or bottom bouncing, they are everywhere. I finally got the lure past them and got a 76 and lost one in the mid 80's.

Some great pix, and good to sea few different species. The longtom is interesting, quite different from the bluewater variety seen wide of NT.

Interesting too about the baby cod numbers.

I decided to have another crack at SWA but it was even quieter then the day before, still plenty of little cod though.

Well what a slow week, I got out for my 3rd fish in 4 days but unfortunately the results didn't change. The wife and I could only manage a few little goldies & Cod, with none of them big enough to keep for a feed.
