Tough little guy, somethings tried to eat him fairly recently.

Emptying out the freezer and cooking up some North Gutter Reds.
Sorry, had to post a fish pic of sorts as I haven’t been out for some time. :D

Always pain involved :banghead:

Started with a bit of galv peeling off the front crossmember. 6 months later the truth revealed.

Spend the money on a C channel trailer next mate. You will never look back.
Had mine 8 years and apart from a bit of surface gal lifting, it’s as good as new.

Entire guts now modified (nearly) and made from channel. I knew it would be an issue but the dealer (boat/trailer) relationship came in to play obviously. “You want the boat but here’s the deal… mate”. It did last 8-9 years though but a mates channel frame lasted just over 22 years.

Some trailers / boat combos are a bit like buying a Porsche Carrera GTS Coupe with Banglop tyres.

Enjoyed watching this Indo flagged tall ship come into the harbour earlier this month, complete with drumming band, dancers and people up the masts

I have just had my sister and her husband here from Perth for the last couple of weeks. We did a heap of fishing so I have a bit of posting to do to catch up. Day 1 we did a bit of bottom bouncing with no luck so we turned to a bit of trolling. We hooked 7 and landed 5 (77, 83, 87, 77 & 68cm).

Day 2 started with a trip to Cape Hotham as it was like glass out there. We landed 3 average goldies in the fist 5 minutes but then it was just a lot of little red fish and sharks. On the way home we thought we would have a crack at for some Barra, I got an 82cm on the first troll run but that was it for the day.

Day 3 my brother-in-law managed his first ever Barra with a nice 76cm, he was very happy to say the least.

Day 4, well it was probably actually day 6 as we did have a rest day and a dough nut day where we got chased off the water with a big storm. Anyway we turned up just after sun up and I got a 90cm Barra in the first 50m of the first troll run. I then got my first decent Jewie in 6 months with a 112cm. Managed a 56cm barra later in the day and half a dozen crabs.

Day 5 was a change of tack on the bigger tides with some live baiting and flicking vibes over the low. We managed a feed of pan size goldies and a couple of salmon.
