yeah they were thick as Matt. Launched a halco rooster popper out and a brassy smashed it as it landed didn't even get to move the lure.

Trip out with the young fella to a Dhimurru recreation spot. Didn’t expect a jack. Photo and released for next time

Is that a Reidys Judge? if so, i had one snap in two when a big barra grabbed it. It was a very old lure thoughGibbsy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 9:35 pm Decided to dodge the crowds at shady and Daly and took my mate, my missus and her friend out to Dundee run. Reefies were a bit slow but the pelagics were around in numbers. A few first for my missus including a good size long tail tuna. My missus's friend getting a few firsts and my mate getting his first trout and Spaniard.
P.S Matt got to test one of those fotofish prize pack lures. The brassy's absolutely destroyed it. Also forgot to drop camera under water as too busy hooking fish. But the brassy's were that thick you couldn't get lures down to the Mack's.
Cheers

Hey nomad, I believe it was a reidys judge from last year's fotofish prize pack. The brassy trevally gave it an absolute hiding but still managed some good fish on it.

Yooz lucky bastards
Got the autumn yelloweye mullet run here soon ... that said, as a kid, catching mullet and salmon trout with my dad off Adelaide beaches was great fun, many memories.
A visitor from the NT here did just nail a big southern bluefin tuna, fish had a body like a barrel, so it's not all bad.

I had never caught a Sawfish in my life and then got 3 in an hour. The first 2 would have been around the 1.5m mark so just cut the line. The 3rd was a bubby one that I hooked in the guts so I could get the hook out of him, take a photo before sending him on his way.

Those sawfish are interesting Ivan, good to know they are about after the gill-netting debacles.
