Is there any particular tide that squid will be more numerous or does it not matter? I have often wanted to do some squidding, in fact last time when I was preparing to go out fishing I actually got the squid light and spare battery in the back of the boat (but trip fell through). What a great way to get fresh live bait as well as fresh eating quality squid. :applause:

Just need to find clear enough water to see the little critters. I use a cast net to get them. There funny creatures and will pop up some times and not others. Usually the best fishing spots are the best squiding spots as well.

we used to get crabs with underwater 12v lights in Lake Macquarie but I'd think twice about the 240v generator in a little tinny.
