Crab ID??

Post by Chris m »

Gday All,

Saw this crab get pulled in by rod and reel the other day on a local Darwin rockwall.

Was wondering if it was common around here and if it has a common or 'local' name???
Presuming its from the king crab(Lithodes) family??

Any feedback would be appreciated

Cheers!

Pretty common but not often caught. When you adjust your eyes there are heaps to be seen in rock pools and other low tide areas.
