Anyone catching crabs

Post by balou »

Last weekend we left the pots in over night and back on the water first light to check them. It’s was freezing but had a great couple hours on the water with the kids on breakfast duties.

Share farmers cutting 4 cable ties but we still managed 6 crabs .

Anyone else catching crabs..

Balou, we got 7 size bucks the other weekend during daytime on building tides in middle arm. Heading out there Friday night and doing all nighter as we too had sharefarmers last time during the day cutting the cable ties holding my jewie heads in pots. So I will be sitting with my pots all night this time round. Will post how we go

So was cold as f@$k managed half a dozen grabs all good size and full. Plenty of small Goldie’s around on the rock bars in middle arm to keep us amused while waiting for the pots. Only heard two boots as water temp down and Barra has lock jaw was entertaining night though

Nice crabs.

Where I live in (Near Rockhampton) it gets pretty cold in winter, so the crabs all disappear about May, and wont stick their noses out of their holes until about Christmas.

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!

Been pulling some big units from the harbour of late. All full of that beautiful, sweet flesh too.
