So if that's how it works, what if I give five of my rods to five different people this weekend to take fishing. If they happen to catch a fish I can claim it haha!!

But you never gave your rod to anybody, they stole it when asked to leave it.

Geez I go quite for a few months and come back to this.... Lol

Great read...... You can tell that there is no run off (not that that's stopped me getting into the barra.. And yes I have pictures and witnesses)

Nice fish from the lake.... I don't care who caught it....

If my rod went off and a mate grabbed it (too bad for being too slow)I would be there with the net and full support to get it in. They can claim it, there's plenty more fish in the sea(lake).
Aaahhh this is making my head hurt......I'm goin fishing!!

I don't go out fishing for the adulation of people on this site. If I catch a good one I'll throw it up cos the missus couldnt give a cr.p. So I don't see why cams mate needs to claim it too. I've taken a mate fishing who caught a metery and I was just as cuffed as him. Until the jealousy set in but we still talk about it and both smile. I just let him know that I put him on it. Hahaha. Doing him a favour by letting him catch it.

Guys heres a little suggestion for the both of you!

This is a little gesture from a mate after I gave him the inside troll run on a spot at the Daly and drove the boat for a couple of hours. 8)
Nuggets thanks.JPG
He proceeded to boat 4 fish in an hour and all good fish while I got nothin. The smile on his face was worth it when he boated his first metery!
yeh yeh, 105 for big G.JPG

A week later he gave me that lure and the box with a little thanks written on it, perhaps he got the glory of the fish but perhaps his thanks said a lot more to me and our friendship is as strong as ever! A lesson in humility for me because I didnt expect the thanks but appreciated it an awful lot when I got it!

Perhaps you two might learn it the hard way through this little saga.

By the way Camfish I still find the story a little confusing and am not sure if all details are told to the 100% truth by either of you because both parties tell it completly different, but I do appreciate the appology and the effort to try and clear things up (hoping its a effort to get your shitt straight and not another cover up).

It was a beaut fish, anyone would want to claim it as his/her own, especially in this dry spell.

Tough call on a mate grabbing my rod though, i might slap him with a pilchard if we weren't lifelong fishing buddies, and even then...

My metery (imagined) is like my wife, in as much as, you can have a grab at her if you feel your opportunity is at hand, but i'm probably gonna get mad and slap you with (at least) a pilchard, if wife/metery or rod slip away due to my negligence or inattention...there's a lesson in it for me and me alone.

I'll treat your wife and fish in the same way, unless you expressly ask me to hold your rod...and then we had better be fishin'
