It'll change next year if there is good rain. It's been poor everywhere.

I think that it is pretty poor PR by the organisors of the Barra Classic not to have their media liaison person, providing accurate and timely progress reports of the Classic.
Those of us who are interested are having to rely upon the good grace of one or two individuals to provide the info.

Just my 10 cents worth

Spooks - not making excuses for them but I think you'll find there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than most people would realise and possibly sometimes things like daily updates might not quite make it up the priorities list to get done. This might be even more so if like this week there was some information filtering through social media to wet our appetites. Agree it is good when the info is coming through though.

Mate. With respect to your comments, I, along with a half-dozen others was on the organising committee for the first five Classics. In those heady days, not only did we have responsibility for all the things that are going on in this days events, we also had to arrange 20 or so boats and motors, and tent accomodation (Daly) for most of the participants, and a myriad of other associated logistic problems, many of which are not part of the current planning and ongoing maintenance issues of the present administrators. Dont get me wrong, the organising committee these days do a great job, and believe me, it takes not more than a few minutes to collate the days results and post them on the DGC website.
My real concern is that all the relatives, friends, and those interstate who have a real interest are being starved of progress reports, and who won what and how. The event has been concluded for over 24 hours, and no-one up here knows what happened.
I stand by my earlier comments.

all good Spooks - obviously something close to your heart and sounds like your well and truly up on what goes on behind the scenes there mate. I hear what your saying and agree too, it would be nice to get that timely info. Just a thought, these days that there is mobile and data access down there and just about everyone has a "smart phone" or device capable of sending messages & emails, perhaps the competitors who have the interested external parties could facilitate and might be able to "ph home" and fill some of the gaps as well until the formal advice does eventually surface. No doubt someone is sure to be monitoring this and will be prompted get something up soon. cheers
