Out in the blue water I once saw a bloke getting the macks and tuna singing and dancing under his boat with no bait fish around. It wasnt one of these devices though. It was a more natural approach to making noise (and not from his :moon: ). I wonder if it would work on barra? :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed:

If they post results like the Teflon swim suits did in the pool (before they were banned) and the rest of the competitors don't own one,
it could also be seen as an unfair advantage. Its interesting, Comps always need to be on the ball as they have a choice to either become a race for the cashed up who can afford every advantage by getting the products for free or by being rich. Or rules are made to try and keep everyone playing with the same football on the same field to enable skill to shine. Technology will certainly be testing event organisers around the country
as the money making and fish catching evolutions continue down certain roads. Sometimes they even cross paths lol.
Its a bit of food for thought anyway.

Might have to get one of these for Mitchel St.
Softly Playing the sound of money being counted while chating someone up would work a treat

Seen a documentary where sharks are lured using coconut shells threaded together and worked in the water to simullate a feeding frenzy, then the sharks are captured using a lasso, no bait of any sort is used. May just be that a barra feeding frenzy played into the water would stimulate the fish into feeding, or at the very least wake them up to start feeding on lures.

They have used similar in the bluewater for years, using non-electronic methods - eg running sprinklers off outriggers to imitate baitfish schools.

If you read some of the info around by the look of it these things have been in existence for many years as different brands models etc. Seems like they are almost a must have item on the US bass tournament scene. Probably was only a matter of time before someone was smart enough to take the blinkers off and had a go at applying it to the Barra scene. I wonder what else it will work on ?
Might be a good opportunity for an importer !

Sorry Whatfish, all the talking in riddles was driving me nuts

I think it was Dave Green's team that had the unit.

Yeh Matt - That was my understanding too, word was they were able to drag a mtr fish out of a troll run when others were not able to do much at all. Then come back and do it again !! But given how we fishing folk are known for not letting truth get in the way of a good story - how much of that is on the money i dont know and like i said in an earlier post was it just plain old good fishing nouse.

Sorry Matt - I did refer to the boat name but was trying to make it to obvious.
Don't know if it helped at all but judging by the time he is putting on the river - he was down there again last weekend preparing for the classic - I think a lot of it comes down to fishing knowledge. 3 metre fish out of 25 in what was essentially a lottery does take a bit of skill.

The horses mouth tells me that it may have some effect when the boat is stationary with engines off, a few barra were hooked directly under the speaker.
Trolling of cource it is useless, the lure is a long way from the speaker, the sounds are drowned by the engine noise.
This blokes success when fishing relies on good skills and tenacity, few fish as hard and long as this bloke.
Oh and he likes gadgets.
