I will give it a go again, maybe fix up my stuffups this year, though I may find it a bit harder some months to get out there.

Dollys sounds good but may not get there this week as I have visitors here atm. Probably sneak away for a bit.

Good on you Bandit for taking it on, you still have 6 months to go in the DGFC comp.
Smile, be happy & go fishing.

Work is getting in the way of my fishing.
My boss says fishing is getting in the way of my work.
I will soon fix both of our problems by quitting.

I was thinking it would be better later in the month..? That way it would give people a bit of notice and a chance to get their 2010 entries together and deliver them on the night. Surely that would be an easy way to get the new comp underway? Im not fussed about the venue, anywhere thats dry sounds good to me! What does everyone think?

Hey CB, well done on taking the job on to look after this great idea.

Unfortunately for me (NQ lad) I don't think it is a viable option. I can't catch a legal Barra in Nov, Dec, Jan unless I buy an impoundment license and go chasing a Freshy in one of the designated ponds!!!!

Can I make a suggestion though? It appears that a lot of the forum regulars love the idea of this, particularly the social aspect. Why not decide on a monthly gathering? Name a set place, set date each month for a casual gathering to talk Barra and Beer? (Like last pay Thursday every month etc) If you cannot make it there is no pressure, if you can you have some fun....... At least that way you have 12 chances to meet and greet.

Just a thought...........

Cheers and good luck all

K sounds good to me! I like the idea of a regular meet. Someone want to call a time/date for later in the month? If we set a regular date it will need to stay the same as it will get schmooshy trying to get it when everyones here. I reckon a weekday due to fishing committments and then either a Tues or Thurs.

Thoughts?

Its nearly the end of Jan so get your name down, there is prob only mid 20s entered so far, ahd about 70 last year.

It does not matter if you dont get 12 out of twelve just a bit of fun. plenty of people joined up last year and got zero, or one or two fish. Set your own goals, and you never know you might get the biggest barra or a mystery prize in the only month you catch a barra.

Only a couple of lures to enter, pretty cheap fun, so jump on board.
